A. Wakefield pitched great. It is unfortunate that we haven't gotten any breaks and have made a few mistakes, that inning would have been over if Wakefield didn't make the mistake of putting his glove out.

What Boston Sites are interesitng to visit while there?
Q. I'm planning a trip to go to Boston this summer; however, I want to know a few places that are interesting to visit while there. A couple of places that I'm going to are: Fenway park and of course the bar Cheers. What other places are there in the city that can make my experience in Boston exciting?
Asked by Answer Master - Wed Jan 13 16:33:15 2010 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Ugh, what is it with tourists and Cheers? You know they didn't really film it there, right? And the Bull and Finch, which was its real name, didn't even look like the bar on the show... they renovated it after the show was over. It's a lame, tacky, tourist trap, so don't bother. Now then, here's what you should bother with: Fenway for sure, that will be awesome. My favorite restaurant is right nearby- Eastern Standard. Check that out for amazing food and an awesome bar. Walk through the Common and the Public Gardens, and go up Beacon Hill for some really good "classic Boston" pictures. Check out Back Bay and grab some lunch at a cafe on Newbury Street (Trident is everyone's favorite). Take a Duck Tour. Cross over the Charles and explore… [cont.]

What is boston like in the late hours of the night?
Q. I've been to boston before but only in the daytime. what is it like after midnight? til like 4am? is it dangerous to be out at those times? where is the worst place to go?
Asked by Kelsey - Thu Sep 24 01:14:30 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Parts of the city can get dangerous late at night,it is best to stay in well lit, populated areas. Though the touristy areas tend to stay quiet. My advice: If you go out late at night try to stay in the touristy areas, Or if you are going to an event, if you get out after the T shuts down, take a cab back to the hotel. It's ok to hang out by the nightclub or bar or whatever your are doing at night, but don't go wandering around in unfamiliar neighborhoods. Don't do anything stupid, and you will most likely be alright. The worst part of the city is Roxbury, very high crime. Dorchester and Allston/Brighton are also tough areas as well. Remember, if out late at night in Boston, The T shuts down at 1235am and doesn't start up again till… [cont.]

Why is Boston/Massachusetts so paranoid about fire prevention compared to other states?
Q. They have fire alarm boxes everywhere, all gas filling stations are outfitted with suppression systems, red strobes on building faces and seem to have fire stations all over. I've been all over the country (excluding the rest of New England) and never seen them as serious as they are around Waltham and Boston. Did something happen? Are people that paranoid?
Asked by bryanwann - Tue Dec 9 01:42:49 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Boston has much old housing stock, without sprinklers and with all-wood construction. The dominant housing is triple-deckers built 80 or more years ago. The houses are close together, with all sorts of wires overhead including streetcar catenaries. All this makes for a bad fire waiting to happen. Some cities are prone to arson. And if a fire does break out in the old wiring, the trucks can have trouble getting in to safely fight the fire. Fires flash quick enough to injure residents all the time. There have also been several famous fire with loss of life. Just yesterday, there was a fire that injured seven people. Paranoia is just a heightened sense of awareness...

I would like to know the cheapest and most convenient way to stay in Boston?
Q. I'm visiting Boston for Memorial Day weekend but find the hotels in Boston to be quite expensive. Is there a convenient way to stay in a motel outside of Boston and be able to get into the city? How about getting back to the motel after I stay out late? Alternately, if you think about paying for transportation into Boston would it be cheaper to stay in one of the more expensive hotels actually in Boston? *Any traveling tips or suggestions about where to go or how to get around Boston would also be great! Thanks!

A. try hotwire.com. I stayed in a four star hotel for $116.00 per night, which isn't bad. Motels outside the city are still going to be a MINIMUM of $70/night, plus it will cost you to get into the city, especially if it is not within walking distance the to the T. Then you'll have to pay for a cab to get to the T, etc. Once you are in Boston, the T is the easiest way to get anywhere.

How old should boston terriers be to give them their first bath?
Q. We just got two little Boston Terriers, they are 9 weeks old, I was wondering when am I supposed to give them a bath? How old should they be and what kind of shampoo is more recommendable?. THank you!
Asked by Johanna - Sun Feb 1 04:34:42 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You should not bath puppies younger than 8 weeks old. Definitely stay away from any flea and tick shampoo. Most F&T actually state on the label to NOT use on puppies or nursing mothers. Give your vet a call and ask them to recommend a good neutral shampoo. No perfumes, no conditioners are needed. If older than 8 weeks old, you can bath the puppy with a gentle puppy shampoo. Make sure to stay to keep the shampoo away from the puppies eyes and ears. Dry them throughly using towels or a hair dryer set on low. (Be careful not to freak them out with a dryer - you don't want them to have a bad experience.) Also - washing may be very stressful for your puppy. So it may have to urinate soon after it's bath. Be sure to take it outside… [cont.]

A. A lot of good choices... but I'd probably go with the North End. It's one of the oldest neighborhoods. It's where Paul Revere lived, there's plenty of revolutionary war history there. It's also where immigrants tended to settle when they arrived en mass in the 1800's - its now known as an Italian enclave. These days it's a little touristy, lots of cool boutiques and restaurants. It's also the neighborhood most affected by the Central Artery / Big Dig. If you're unfamiliar with that, basically in the 1950's the city decided to build hideous large above ground highway wrapping around the east side of the city. It went straight through the North End, blighting it and effectively severed it from the rest of the city. The big dig was… [cont.]

Q. I have never cooked a boston butt before, but my local grocery store has them on sale for a great price! What is the best way to cook it. All suggestions would be appreciated.
Asked by cjw4ua - Wed Jul 2 19:27:54 2008 - - 9 Answers - 1 Comments

A. Sure. It's great BBQ'd. Begin cooking the Boston Butt in the crock pot a day before you plan to serve it because it needs a long cooking time. Place the meat in the crock pot with 1/4 cup water and salt and pepper to taste. Cover and set crock pot on low (generally this will be the evening before you plan to serve it for lunch or supper the next day). Two or four hours before serving pour a little BBQ sauce on the meat. Serve with buns and extra BBQ sauce on the side

A. You can go to medical school with any major as long as you fulfill the premed requirements. But for the most part, Biology, Chemistry, and Biomedical Engineering the three best/most common majors for medical school. US News World Report for Boston Physiology/Health Science are not ranked 6th Biomedical Engineering 62th Chemistry 89th Biology Any pre med major would be fine.

A. The fact that you are here on Yahoo answers asking this question clearly shows that you have no business even thinking about breeding dogs. Just becuase she has a uterus does not make her worthy of breeding. Do her a favor and get her spayed. Find something else to do as a hobby other than bringing more unwanted dogs into the world. What are some of the best theatre colleges in Boston?
Q. I'm planning on majoring in theatre arts or theatre education, and I think Boston would be an excellent city to attend college in. I have a few schools in mind, but what would you suggest? If you know any good schools for theatre that aren't in Boston please list those too. I'm a good student, with a GPA above 3.5 and some extracurricular activities and community service mostly in the realms of theatre. The college has to be reasonable to get into. Thanks!

How many cups of food should I give a Boston Terrier every day?
Q. My husband is planning to adopt a Boston Terrier. We had a Maltese and a Shih Tzu. It will be our first time to have a Boston Terrier so we are not familiar how to feed them. We need to know how many cups of food we should be give him every day. Thanks!
Asked by Czareena - Wed Apr 7 07:05:39 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The amount of food to be given to a Boston Terrier depends on its weight and the amount of calories found in the dog food you are giving it. For example, an 11-pound Boston Terrier puppy needs about 882 to 1764 kilo calories everyday. This is equivalent to 2 to 4.1 cups of Purina Dog Chow, or 2.3 to 4.6cups of Iam's Chunks or Nutro Max Adult Food. So, you should know first how heavy is the Boston Terrier you plan to adopt and choose the right dog food before you can determine how much you are to approximately feed it everyday.

Q. Im interested in majoring physical therapy so i want to know how difficult is it get into the Sargent College at Boston University.
Asked by Dan - Thu Dec 18 17:25:59 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I have a family member that is a professor at Sargent (OT not PT). It is extremely competitive and the majority of the students are overachievers that cannot even tolerate getting an A-. Also Sargent considers a D to be a failing grade. Attendance is mandatory and you can fail a class for missing more than one or two. It is a very tough school because they want make sure you have the necessary professional skills (who wants an underachiever treating their injuries after an accident?). If you're serious about it, then you definitely want to go to Sargent but if you're an average student you may not be able to get in. Good luck!

They were all about the same size at birth. They are now one week old. This puppy nurses, but not as much as its larger litter mates. It just doesn't seem to be growing. I don't know what to do?

A. Check with your vet!!! There are various conditions that interfere with feeding, absorption of nutrients. It could end up just fading away, with a lot of suffering. There are lots of breed-specific in-bred problems. it can cost money, but the little one needs you. Then, it is time to get mom and dad fixed. It can be difficult to find responsible people to adopt animals. It is more humane to give them a break from one pregnancy after another,There are animal fighters who will take "free" animals to use as bait, in order to throw it into the fighting ring to increase their dog's taste for blood. These people are everywhere, becuase there is money to be made from betting.Help your pup if you can now, and use care so that you don't… [cont.]

A. Burlington is not very far away from Boston, perhaps twenty miles at most. There may be a commuter rail train that runs to North Station but renting a car would be by far the simplest solution. Once in the city it is easily navigable using the MBTA trains and trolleys. The link will give you some insight to its workings. Good luck and have a pleasant stay.
